Astor Head Start Children Enjoy Wildlife Show

January 23, 2015

Ralph R. Smith Elementary School in Hyde Park invited Astor's Hyde Park Head Start kids to see a wildlife show in the school's auditorium.

The kids in our Hyde Park Head Start Program were treated to a wonderful wildlife assembly called “A World of Animals.” Bill Robinson, wildlife expert, visited Ralph R. Smith Elementary School this January to introduce children to a wide array of animals.

Robinson showed the children a red tail hawk, horned owl, baby alligator and a snake.

“The kids had a blast! They were able to see the animals up close and personal and sat attentively for about forty minutes,” said Monica Lee, Hyde Park Head Start Head Teacher.

“He even fed the owl a mouse,” added Lee.

The assembly is lively and educational, which keeps the children entertained.

Robinson holds both a Bachelors and Masters degree in biology and is a permanently certified teacher in New York State. He and his animals have appeared on many TV shows such as David Letterman, the Today Show and Good Morning America.
