Astor Head Start Kids Meet Elmo

December 11, 2014

Thanks to the generosity of donors, children and families in our Hudson Valley programs got the chance to experience the childhood they deserve.

On the weekend of December 5, 2014, 250 children in our Head Start and Early Head Start Programs, along with their families, went to see “Sesame Street Live” at the Civic Center in Poughkeepsie. This was made possible thanks to donations made by Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro, Jamie Vitiello of Vitech Systems Group, and Dutchess County Sheriff Butch Anderson.

“The kids all had fun. They enjoyed seeing each other there. I heard all about Elmo today,” said the Early Childhood Center Director.

Thanks to the generosity of these donors, children and families in our Hudson Valley programs got the chance to experience the childhood they deserve.

All the children in our Head Start and Early Head Start programs come from low income families. Having a fun-filled day seeing Elmo and his friends was truly a dream come true for many.

“Families and children enjoyed and were grateful,” said the Early Childhood Center Director.
