Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Statement
Astor has always held the Core values of Respect, Integrity, Hope, Partnership, and Quality Service. Through these core values, Astor recognizes that we need to understand and acknowledge the ways in which institutional and systemic oppression impacts all of us. It is only then that we can in order to truly address the inequities and be leaders of change. Astor is committed to and has a responsibility for developing an environment that will eliminate racial and socioeconomic disparities that impact the children and families we serve, as well as our staff. Astor remains dedicated to creating an internal culture centered around social justice and equity as well as performing with professional integrity within our policies and procedures. We will do this by ensuring that we provide a safe and inclusive environment for the children and families we serve, as well as our staff. In partnership with our communities and collaborating organizations, we strive to create nurturing spaces to empower our staff and families to question, challenge, and ultimately dismantle systems of oppression.
